Tidepooling for Earth Month đđŠȘđŠ Living up to my handle & getting out to explore the intertidal zone now that I live so close to the coast! This was my first time finding live sand dollars & I was super excited. Was also stoked to see tons of oysters, clams, a few sea cucumbers, and lots of kelp/algae diversity (lots of Turkish towel!) đż (Also when I say urchin spines are more pronounced, I am thinking of a very urchiny sea urchin, like a diadema or a Red Sea urchin, but here are urchin species that arenât as spiny as others, like armored urchins or collectors urchins. Lots of spine diversity with different species!) My @Native Shoes are such a great option for exploring the low tide (& itâs super cool how theyâre made from algae as I get excited about algae). Theyâre a great combo with my @alder apparel âgo explore essentialâ pants that cinch up so Iâm not getting wet. Whatâs a cool critter you love to see while tide pooling? Or a dream species you want to see! Reminder, always tidepool with care. Donât handle marine life if you donât know how! Donât yank wildlife off of rocks or other substrates they are firmly attached too. There are safe ways you can handle certain species but if you donât know, donât handle. #EarthMonth #TidePools #Tidepooling #SalishSea #recreating #Intertidal #MarineBiology
