Despite many nutritionists failing to understand it, we aren’t consuming only cereal or lettuce for the rest of our lives. The quality of our diet and its relationship with our health is entirely dependent on our entire diet of long periods of time. Therefore it is impossible for a specific food consumed at a single moment in time to be detrimental to any aspect of health, unless you’re allergic to it. When people say specific foods are good or bad, they don’t understand (or are purposefully ignoring) the context within an overall diet. This is rather silly. Functional medicine is not evidence based. Many of its ‘practitioners’ create or exaggerate problems and demonize processed food so they can ‘heal’ you with their line of (ironically hilarious) processed supplements.
