I think it’s safe to say mall life isn’t for me 😮‍💨🫠 We’re in Edmonton for medical and while we’re here we thought we’d check out the West Edmonton Mall, which is Canada’s biggest mall. I was surprised how overwhelming I found it to be! It’s clear that lots of people love being there and that it’s a spot that’s designed for folks of all ages to enjoy…but it wasn’t my thing. On the plus side, C and I tested out beds. We’ve been together over 8 years and we’ve only ever had a double bed 🫠. For a longgggg time we’ve talked about upgrading and we finally did it. The tiny remote Yukon community I live in had a gym! I normally do my workouts at home and my runs on the roads here; however, I wanted to try some of my tempo runs on a treadmill, especially for snowy/slushy/icy days. The treadmill is in pretty awful condition, but it’s better than nothing! S/O to my neighbour for helping me turn it on because I couldnt get it to start at first 🫠 Since filming this, I’ve only used the treadmill at the gym — I’ll continue to use my gym setup at home for everything else…maybe it’s time to get a treadmill for home?!? A realistic medical trip from the tiny community I live in to Whitehorse includes: 🌿 obviously medical appointments 🌿 groceries 🌿 meetings 🌿 meals (with friends!) 🌿 errands 🌿 vehicle needs 🌿 and more! It’s a definite whirlwind! When I was first diagnosed with a myeloproliferative neoplasm, I thought I might have to move out of this community. I worried that a serious diagnosis would limit my ability to live remotely. Three years later, I feel fortunate to have a great team of medical practitioners in Whitehorse, Vancouver, and Beaver Creek who help me lead my very best life! 〰️〰️ How far is your nearest hospital?
