Lentejas en su jugo A warm guiso for the heart 🫀 Recipe: I cup lentils, uncooked - Salsa ingredients: 1 tbsp olive oil 12 tomatillos, about 1 lb 2 garlic cloves 3 serranos 1/2 tsp cumin powder 1/4 of a large onion Cilantro bunch 1 -1/2 cup water 1 (v) chick’n cube Salt to taste - 1 cup broth (1 cup warm water, 1 bouillon cube diluted) 1 cup water Small bunch of cilantro Optional bean broth/caldo de frijoles de la olla Heat large pan, add 1 tbsp oil, tomatillos, garlic cloves, serrano peppers, onion. Sear ingredients for a few minutes, turn off flame, cover pan, continue cooking in their steam. Place ingredients in a blender cup, add cumin powder, cilantro bunch, water, bouillon cube and salt to taste. Blend until smooth. Saute a few onion slices and jalapeños with 1 tbsp olive oil, remove when they have browned. Pour salsa, add lentils, veggie broth and cup of water, bring to a slow simmer with a small bunch of cilantro, turn off flame after 20 minutes or when lentils have cooked through. Taste for salt adjust with veggie bouillon powder to taste. 👉Serve with bean broth, if you’re like me you have a batch of frijoles in the fridge, warm some up and add the bean caldito into your bowl of lentils. Lentil Soup ✨ Shawrbet 3adas, best way to break your fast on something warm, healthy and delicious 👌🏻😋 - 1 onion - 1 small potato - 1 small carrot - 1 cup split red rentils (200gr) - 1/4 tsp ground black pepper - 1 tsp ground turmeric - Salt (try soup with vegetable stock first and add salt if needed) - 1 tbsp vegetable stock or 1 stock cube - 1 litre of water - 2 tbsp med grain rice 1. Sautee onion in 2 tbsp mild olive oil or vegie oil 2. When soft add in roughly chopped potato and carrot along with washed lentils 3. Add in pepper, turmeric, vegetable stock then top with 1 litre of water 4. When it's almost coming to a boil, taste the soup and see if it needs additional salt 5. Allow to simmer on medium low heat for 40mins to 1 hr till everything is soft 6. Blend with stick blender and add more water if you'd like a thinner consistency 7. Add 2 tbsp medium grain rice and allow to simmer for another 30mins till rice is cooked through 8. Serve with fried lebanese bread on the side and top with fresh lemon juice Enjoy 🙏🏻 NOTES : - I make this the night before and just leave it in the fridge, when needed I pop on low heat with an extra cup of water and stir - If you're not using a non stick pot, make sure you're stirring every 5 minutes on a lower hest to avoid the lentils sticking and burning on the bottom #ramadan #lentilsoup #ramadanrecipes

Ok, what are you having for dinner tonight because I think this Loaded Mercimek Çorbası (Lentil Soup) is the one! Ingredients: 300g split red lentils, washed + drained 75 g brown basmati rice, washed + drained 75g quinoa, washed + drained 3 litres cold water 1 large sweet potato, finely grated 2 large carrots, finely diced 2 celery sticks, finely diced 1 large onion, finely diced 1 chicken or vegetable stock cube 500 ml boiling water 4 tbsp fresh lemon juice 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp coarse black pepper To serve Pul biber Dried mint Grilled black olives Toasted bread Fried hellim cubes Lemon wedges Sea salt Cracked black pepper Method: Add the drained lentils, rice and quinoa to a large pan with the 3 litres of cold water. Place the pan over a high heat and bring to the boil for 5 minutes, skimming and discarding the foam that forms on the top. Reduce the heat a little and cook for 20 mins until the soup starts to thicken. Dissolve the stock cube in the boiling water in a heatproof jug. Add the stock to the pan, the the vegetables and cook for a further 10-15 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Add the lemon juice, salt and black pepper to the soup pan, give everything a gentle stir, cook for a further minute and then remove one-third of the soup and blitz carefully in a food processor. Return the blended soup back to the pan. Serve bowls of the soup topped with the croutons, hellim, a sprinkling of pul biber, dried mint, grilled black olives, l an extra squeeze of lemon juice. “One of the original Palestinian traditions is that when it starts to rain and the weather is cold, the food on this day must be lentils” I made lentil soup today because it’s cold and snowy in New York and we are lucky to be in our homes warm and dry. Thinking of Palestine today and everyday.. 1 yellow onion 2 carrots 2 potatoes 2 cloves of garlic Tsp of cumin and paprika Pinch of cayenne 2 cups of lentils 1 tsp arrowroot? Lemon Chop onions and add into a pot with olive oil. Cook for a few mins to develop flavor then add carrots and peeled potatoes. Cook for 5-7 mins and add chopped garlic. Then add seasonings and washed lentils. Cover with 4 cups of water and cook until the lentils soften if you need to add more water do so! Blend with an immersion blender. I didn’t want to waste the potato peels so I made some crispy potato peels. Soak the well washed potato skins in cold water for 10 mins then dry really well. Season with olive oil, salt, pepper and paprika. Lay flat and spaced out on baking tray and bake at 400 for 10 mins or more make sure to keep checking on them after 6 mins because they will burn quickly. Serve with a lotttt of lemon,chopped parsley, and yogurt!!! Lentil Soup ✨ Shawrbet 3adas, best way to break your fast on something warm, healthy and delicious 👌🏻😋 - 1 onion - 1 small potato - 1 small carrot - 1 cup split red rentils (200gr) - 1/4 tsp ground black pepper - 1 tsp ground turmeric - Salt (try soup with vegetable stock first and add salt if needed) - 1 tbsp vegetable stock or 1 stock cube - 1 litre of water - 2 tbsp med grain rice 1. Sautee onion in 2 tbsp mild olive oil or vegie oil 2. When soft add in roughly chopped potato and carrot along with washed lentils 3. Add in pepper, turmeric, vegetable stock then top with 1 litre of water 4. When it's almost coming to a boil, taste the soup and see if it needs additional salt 5. Allow to simmer on medium low heat for 40mins to 1 hr till everything is soft 6. Blend with stick blender and add more water if you'd like a thinner consistency 7. Add 2 tbsp medium grain rice and allow to simmer for another 30mins till rice is cooked through 8. Serve with fried lebanese bread on the side and top with fresh lemon juice Enjoy 🙏🏻 NOTES : - I make this the night before and just leave it in the fridge, when needed I pop on low heat with an extra cup of water and stir - If you're not using a non stick pot, make sure you're stirring every 5 minutes on a lower hest to avoid the lentils sticking and burning on the bottom #ramadan #lentilsoup #ramadanrecipes

Ok, what are you having for dinner tonight because I think this Loaded Mercimek Çorbası (Lentil Soup) is the one! Ingredients: 300g split red lentils, washed + drained 75 g brown basmati rice, washed + drained 75g quinoa, washed + drained 3 litres cold water 1 large sweet potato, finely grated 2 large carrots, finely diced 2 celery sticks, finely diced 1 large onion, finely diced 1 chicken or vegetable stock cube 500 ml boiling water 4 tbsp fresh lemon juice 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp coarse black pepper To serve Pul biber Dried mint Grilled black olives Toasted bread Fried hellim cubes Lemon wedges Sea salt Cracked black pepper Method: Add the drained lentils, rice and quinoa to a large pan with the 3 litres of cold water. Place the pan over a high heat and bring to the boil for 5 minutes, skimming and discarding the foam that forms on the top. Reduce the heat a little and cook for 20 mins until the soup starts to thicken. Dissolve the stock cube in the boiling water in a heatproof jug. Add the stock to the pan, the the vegetables and cook for a further 10-15 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Add the lemon juice, salt and black pepper to the soup pan, give everything a gentle stir, cook for a further minute and then remove one-third of the soup and blitz carefully in a food processor. Return the blended soup back to the pan. Serve bowls of the soup topped with the croutons, hellim, a sprinkling of pul biber, dried mint, grilled black olives, l an extra squeeze of lemon juice. “One of the original Palestinian traditions is that when it starts to rain and the weather is cold, the food on this day must be lentils” I made lentil soup today because it’s cold and snowy in New York and we are lucky to be in our homes warm and dry. Thinking of Palestine today and everyday.. 1 yellow onion 2 carrots 2 potatoes 2 cloves of garlic Tsp of cumin and paprika Pinch of cayenne 2 cups of lentils 1 tsp arrowroot? Lemon Chop onions and add into a pot with olive oil. Cook for a few mins to develop flavor then add carrots and peeled potatoes. Cook for 5-7 mins and add chopped garlic. Then add seasonings and washed lentils. Cover with 4 cups of water and cook until the lentils soften if you need to add more water do so! Blend with an immersion blender. I didn’t want to waste the potato peels so I made some crispy potato peels. Soak the well washed potato skins in cold water for 10 mins then dry really well. Season with olive oil, salt, pepper and paprika. Lay flat and spaced out on baking tray and bake at 400 for 10 mins or more make sure to keep checking on them after 6 mins because they will burn quickly. Serve with a lotttt of lemon,chopped parsley, and yogurt!!! Lentil Soup of my childhood- it is so comforting and delicious and sometimes my body and soul just need a big bowl of it! Ingredients: 1 lbs @sadaf_foods green lentils 1/4 cup @sadaf_foods olive oil 1 medium yellow onion 1 carrot 1 yellow gold potato 1/2 red bell pepper 1 cup cherry tomatoes 3 garlic cloves 1 tbs tomato paste 2 tbs parsley 2 tsp salt 1 tsp black pepper Feta, for garnish (optional) Red wine vinegar, to taste (optional) Method: 1. Chop onion, carrot and potatoes; sauté in olive oil over medium heat until lightly softened; add chopped pepper and thinly sliced garlic; 2. Heat olive oil in pan and add in onions, carrots, garlic, and potatoes 2. Sauté for about 5 minutes and add in WASHED lentils 3. Sauté for about 10 minutes (use this time to mix maagi cubes with 2 cups hot water) 4. Add in the 2 cups of water you mixed with the maagi cubes along with another 2 cups of water 5. Season with black pepper, turmeric, cumin, and salt 6. Once soup starts to boil, reduce temperature to low and cover 7. Let soup sit for about 30 minutes, or until the lentils and potatoes and softened, then add in the last 2 cups of water, blend with immersion blender until you get your desired consistency
