I did it guys!☺️ First on the surgery list today so I was taken down at 8:30am and woke up in my recovery room around 12ish , was in there for a little while with oxygen and observations as I had the shakes after waking up, got all warmed up and had a nap before heading back onto the room on my ward around 2:30pm, Feeling good, been for my first wee since coming back which was surprisingly easier than I thought it would be which is amazing!! Going to continue to take it easy and get lots of rest, currently waiting on my sandwich and yogurt as I’ve had two bottles of water, two hot chocolates and a brownie, but I felt very sick after the brownie so I’ve just had my anti sickness medication pumped into me ☺️ Surgery went well with no complications, just waiting now to see Rob (the surgeon) to find out more, But all in all I am feeling good, pain is starting to kick in but I’m keeping up with my medications and everyone has been so lovely and I feel so well looked after from the team and also my wonderful family who are here catering for my every need 🥹 Can’t wait to have a nice long nap, just wanted to update you all, thank you all so much for your wonderful messages! I completed my weightloss journey, hit my final weightloss goal of 168lbs down (12st) since my highest weight at 315lbs (22st 7lbs) and I had a tummy tuck procedure on the 28th September to remove my loose skin. It’s been a lot! A whole lot to process! I could not be more proud, 4 days post op today and during my recovery i’ve been reflecting so much on my journey, the ups the downs, all the hurdles I’ve pulled myself over, all of the milestones i’ve celebrated and all of the things I can finally do after believing in myself and trusting the process. I know how im supposed to feel, i’m supposed to feel elated, exstatic, on cloud nine and completely over the moon to have my loose skin removed after completing my weightloss journey. And I am. But i’m also all of these emotions too. A before and after photo doesnt show the journey in between. The mental and physical impacts of major surgery, of saying goodbye to a part of you and the pit of dread over the realities of a permanent change to your body. Day 3, entering the swell hell phase I read so much about, trusting the process ❤️‍🩹 Update on my breathing from yesterday - I’ve spoken with my Surgeon and he advised me to remove my binder for 2 hours a day and it has helped, I had a good sleep last night and i’m keeping up with my medications and making sure I’m elevating my legs correctly, I also think my body is taking a huge emotional hit from the surgery because I’ve been experiencing a lot of anxiety and my emotions have been all over the place, this surgery has really hit me hard, harder than I thought it would. I guess i’m just feeling a bit vulnerable right now and nervous in this body that doesnt feel like my one anymore.
