Everything I drank in Ghana, and more Please try this at your own risk 😜 Asaana- malted fermented corn drink, like the Ghanaian version of Coca Cola. It gets its colour from caramel made with sugar. We got to try this one at Jamestown but the vendor is actually based in Accra new town Zomkom - raw millet drink. Everyone you ask will make theirs different, some add rice and others make it with just millet. Homemade will use more spices than outside but ginger is usually present. Samia/Tamarind drink - this is made with tamarind and ginger Palm Wine - I have multiple videos on palm wine but it is made from the sap of the oil palm. We make local alcohol from it, everyone has its own name for it Cacao fruit juice - juice made from the cacao fruit pulp, it tastes nothing like chocolate (which is made from the seeds of the fruit) but rather a nice tropical fruit Sobolo - spiced hibiscus drink made with ginger and local spices, again everyone has their own variation Zom - lightly roasted millet with Shea butter. Some make it with tamarind and pepper too pito - malted sorghum beer what didn’t make it to the video Baobab juice- I enjoyed a few bottles of fresh baobab juice in Ghana Sorghum Water - I tried this at the Bolga market, make with red millet and ginger. The same drinks look different depending on where you are in the country or whether it is sold or homemade #drinks #localdrinks #hibiscustea #tamarind #millet #ghanaiandrinks #ghanaianfood #westafricanfood #ghana #fyp

We are sharing a Ghanaian classic today, Sobolo - one of the many types of West African hibiscus drinks you find across the region Roselle Hibiscus is an indigenous crop to the African continent in the same family as okra. The flowers are dried and used to make hibiscus drinks you find across the region. It is usually the drink of choice at many traditional celebrations and the perfect vehicle for necessary nutrients. The leaves are actually used to make soups and stews with the same viscosity as okra and jute leaves. Hibiscus is a powerhouse for both vitamin C and plant-based iron as well as various antioxidants from its bright colour. It is also good for blood pressure. Unfortunately, it is not recommended for pregnant women as it can increase the risk of contractions and early labour. Yes, I added sugar here because hibiscus is quite tarte. If you want to reduce the amount of added sugar in the drink, juice the pineapple and make sure the pineapple is super sweet. Shoutout to @cheflifestyle_ for the suggestion. Discount code for the juicer is in my bio #ghanaian #westafrican #summerdrinks #africanfood #hibiscustea #sobolo #ghanafood

(Hibiscus Tea) Lowers blood pressure One of the most impressive and well-known benefits of hibiscus tea is that it may help lower blood pressure. Over time, high blood pressure can place extra strain on the heart and cause it to weaken. High blood pressure is also associated with an increased risk of heart disease (5Trusted Source). Several studies have found that hibiscus tea may lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. #hibiscustea #bloodpressure #highbp #health #irfanazeem #doctor #foryou #foryoupage hibiscus tea benefits, hibiscus tea benefits in hindi, hibiscus tea benefits in tamil, hibiscus tea benefits dr berg, hibiscus tea benefits in pregnancy, hibiscus tea benefits in urdu, hibiscus tea benefits for hair, hibiscus tea benefits for skin, hibiscus tea benefits in telugu, hibiscus tea benefits for weight loss, hibiscus tea benefits in malayalam, hibiscus tea benefits and side effects, hibiscus tea benefits in bengali, hibiscus tea benefits nepali, hibiscus tea benefits in kannada, hibiscus tea benefits and

🌺Will you be growing Sour Leaf Hibiscus this year? 🌺Hibiscus is such a wonderful plant with many medicinal qualities. Do some research and you will see for yourself how awesome it is! 🌺I just learned from a new friend today that the proper way to make hibiscus tea is by adding ginger and a cinnamon stick too. So I will be trying that in a couple of days for sure because I’m all about the ginger!! 🌺Let me know in the comments if you will be growing it, if you’ve tried it, and if it’s helped you in any kind of way! #sourleafhibiscus #hibiscustea #sorrel#growingfood #gardentips #medicinalherbs #growyourownfood #organicgardening #backyardgarden #vegetablegarden #beginnergardener #newgardener #homesteading #selfsufficient

To make Agua de Jamaica con Fresas (Hibiscus and Strawberry Water), you'll need: Ingredients: - 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers (Jamaica) - 4 cups water - 1/2 cup sliced strawberries - 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste) - Ice cubes - 1 lime - Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish) Instructions: 1. In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil. 2. Add the hibiscus flowers and sugar to the boiling water, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. 3. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes. 4. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool completely. 5. Once cooled, strain the liquid into a pitcher to remove the hibiscus flowers. 6. Add the sliced strawberries to the pitcher and the juice of one lime and stir well. 7. Refrigerate the Agua de Jamaica con Fresas until chilled. 8. Serve over ice cubes, garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired, and enjoy! This refreshing drink is perfect for hot days and gatherings with friends and family. #aguafrescas #aguafrescadejamaicaconfresas #refreshingdrinks #refreshingbeverages #vegetarian #vegetariano #cookingwithrashee #hibiscustea

As the season shifts we are now entering that time of year when our bodies are more susceptible to colds, coughs, sore throats and other respiratory issues. Along with fire cider, here is my current favorite brew. While very helpful before, or at the onset of symptoms, it is not a substitute for other medicines that your body may need to heal. These herbs and spice were foraged by myself and are commonly found elsewhere. Helps with general pain relief, headaches, throat, cough, cold, antiviral, antibacterial, anti- inflammatory , cold, flu, antioxidant ,- sore throat, upper respiratory, tonsils , immune system, antioxidant, vitamins A, B and C, amino acids (just 4 to 6 drops of the tincture) #herbalmedicine #feverfew #rosehip #elderberry #DidYouYawn #gingertea #bluecornflower #loosetea #herbaltea #tea #healingtea #vegantea #fenneltea #cumintea #hibiscustea
